AI fooled advertising experts

The AI-generated ads were generally found to be indistinguishable from human-created ads in a contest described as Turing’s first advertising test.

The contest was inspired by Turing’s original test, which questions the ability of machines to mimic humans in conversation. In this case, a panel of 17 marketing experts achieved only 57% accuracy in correctly identifying three ads primarily made using generative AI and seven ads made by marketing students.
