Sony Music Edition The UK has promoted Andrew Spence to the post of Advocate General.
In his senior role, Spence will oversee business and legal strategies and initiatives on behalf of SMP UK and its roster, as well as provide advice and guidance on its legal and operational matters.
Based in London, Spence will continue to report to Chairman, Co-Chief Executive, UK and SVP International David Ventura and UK Co-Chief Executive Tim Major.
Spence joined the company in 2014 as Director of Commercial Affairs.
Subsequently, he became senior director of commercial affairs and senior director of commercial and commercial affairs.
In 2019, he became responsible for legal and commercial affairs.
Prior to joining SMP UK he spent several years in private practice as a music solicitor focusing on the work of artists.
He started his career in the music industry as a drummer and musician.
