“Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd, responding to the findings published in the Durham report, thinks the time may be right for a Church committee to help restore confidence in the FBI.
Special Counsel John Durham’s report found that the FBI did not have enough “factual evidence” to investigate the Trump-Russia collusion allegations and revealed that it “did not adhere to its mission of strict fidelity to the law”.
Even without evidence, they launched an investigation against a presidential candidate who would harass him for years and undermine his administration.
While insisting that the Durham Report was not quite the bombshell conservatives hoped for, Todd still acknowledged the major trust issues plaguing the FBI. And the finds inside certainly didn’t help.
“Special Counsel John Durham’s starkest findings after a four-year investigation were that the FBI suffered from confirmation bias and, quote-unquote, ‘ignored or deliberately ignored material information’ that thwarted the narrative. collusion between Donald Trump and Russia,” Todd told his viewers.
NBC host Chuck Todd makes a surprising pivot and calls out the FBI for losing the trust of the American people by reacting to the Durham Report.
“Looks like we’re at the time where we need a real church board… like when the FBI J. Edgar Hoover was clearly no more… pic.twitter.com/BcQTkusBmx

Chuck Todd Asks Church Committee to Investigate FBI
While it should come as no surprise that Chuck Todd is actively trying to dismiss what amounts to an active coup within the FBI, what he says next may leave you a bit shocked.
Todd said it might be time for a full-scale investigation of the office.
“It’s not an FBI that should feel good about what Durham found out because, at a minimum, this question of confirmation bias goes to the heart of how James Comey seemed so concerned about the perception of the FBI that he — if it was overdone or underdone Hillary’s stuff, then overdone or underdone Trump’s stuff,” he explained.
Interesting that Todd only notices now. Where was his investigation of the history of collusion with Russia?

“Look, trust in the FBI is eroding left and right,” Todd continued. “It feels like we’re at a time when we need a real Church committee, that it’s a time like when the FBI J. Edgar Hoover clearly wasn’t helping the American people anymore, he there was a moment.”
“It feels like maybe we’re in one of those times.”
Absolutely amazing to hear this hack reporting something true

Tucker Carlson called for a church committee
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, as Chairman Kevin McCarthy struggled to secure his role in the new GOP-controlled House, suggested two concessions he could consider to secure votes in favor of his leadership.
Carlson advised McCarthy to release ALL January 6 records and appoint Rep. Thomas Massie to head a ‘Frankish Church Committee’ study the FBI.
Imagine that. Tucker Carlson and Chuck Todd are on the same page.
If Kevin McCarthy wants to be president, he’s going to have to give his colleagues something real — real concessions. He can start with these two things. pic.twitter.com/tzTajZjgaU

The original church board was formed in 1975 to investigate abuses in various intelligence services, including the FBI, CIA, and IRS.
Senator Frank Church, during a committee discussion on NBC’s “Meet the Press” the same year, warned of the intelligence community’s ability to exploit certain technological advances to monitor messages and use technology against the American people.
Like they did more recently with Twitter and the Hunter Biden and COVID’disinformation‘ efforts, too bad Snowden’s Revelations.
On August 17, 1975, Senator Frank Church appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press and issued a stark warning about a certain technology perfected by the intelligence community, which could be used by the US government against its own citizens to create “tyranny total”. pic.twitter.com/ndfZ3QS3JT

“The technological capability that the intelligence community has given the government could allow it to impose total tyranny, and there would be no way to fight back,” Church said nearly 50 years ago.
“It looks like we have to do something to restore trust,” Todd said.
We may be well beyond this stage.
