Vanity Fair pulled back the curtain a bit on how the media will cover Republicans in the 2024 presidential election cycle, attacking Ron DeSantis’ choice to announce his campaign through Twitter chief Elon Musk. , whom they compare to the former Grand Wizard of the KKK, David Duke.
Let the unbalanced games of stupidity begin!
Bess Levin, political correspondent for Vanity Fair whose biography describes her as “an essential voice of our current tragicomedy”, became the tragi-comedy with a five-paragraph rant criticizing the DeSantis-Musk announcement.
THE title alone signals a level of petty ignorance that one would expect from an uninformed child:
Report: Ron DeSantis to officially announce his 2024 candidacy with Elon Musk as apparently David Duke was unavailable
“He is said to be planning to officially go for the 2024 race during a Twitter chat with Elon Musk, as apparently other neo-Nazi sympathizers were unavailable,” Old Bess writes, as apparently real journalists were not available.
It’s in the “news” section of Vanity Fair, a newspaper I had dreamed of writing for. And I am appalled.
Note phrases such as: “David Duke was unavailable” and “Other neo-Nazi sympathizers were unavailable”. These are words thrown around wildly and irresponsibly, like few… pic.twitter.com/FhIj9Dt6v3

Vanity Fair sme Elon Musk and Ron DeSantis with David Duke Blast
Musk’s Vanity Fair smear as David Duke is a thinly veiled jab at the Republican candidate himself and his associations. They’ve done it many times over the years with Trump.
They forced the former president to repeatedly denounce Duke yet continued to pretend that he had not. They’ll probably do the same to DeSantis And Trump this election cycle.
It’s a glimpse of the reality that those who think DeSantis will be treated more kindly by the media than Donald Trump – because he’s supposed to be the more balanced candidate – are simply wrong.

“Anyway, just as a reminder, a DeSantis presidency is as terrible a prospect as a Trump presidency,” Levin adds in his column. Amazing – there is now two Hitler running for president? !
She was summarily shredded on social media.

True, but it happened a long, long time ago. In fact, too bad. You can’t lose what you never had.
Musk himself suggested that the Vanity Fair article comparing him to David Duke was so ridiculous it must have been satire.
Looks like Babylon Bee has competition for satire

Christina Pushaw of the DeSantis Rapid Response Team also returned fire.
“They’re losing their gatekeeper position…and they can’t handle it,” she tweeted.

Pushaw’s analysis may be correct. Vanity Fair’s David Duke smear may be nothing more than bitterness.
Left-leaning media outlets like this openly fear that Republicans will close them during the 2024 election cycle.
“GOP politicians are increasingly avoiding sit-down interviews, banning reporters from events in 2022 and skipping debates — an aversion to media scrutiny that could upend how the next presidential election cycle is covered. “, wrote Vanity Fair.

Odd. There wasn’t much outrage over an “aversion to media scrutiny” when the current face of the Democratic Party, President Biden, regularly avoid sitting interviews, perpetually denigrated networks it could offer scrutiny and has spent much of its 2020 campaign locked away in a basement.
For years, GOP lawmakers and politicians have made themselves available to far-left media outlets such as MSNBC, CNN, The Washington Post and The New York Times to name a few.
Why would any of them in their right mind give credence to an outlet like Vanity Fair that is willing to compare Musk and/or DeSantis to David Duke?
President Biden announced his 2024 re-election campaign in three minutes Youtube video. There were no sarcastic comments from Bess Levin comparing him to her “friend” and “mentor” the late Senator Robert Byrd, a former senior Ku Klux Klan officer.
