Law enforcement at all levels of government are preparing for Donald Trump to be indicted in the Stormy Daniels case.
Law enforcement and local, state and federal security agencies are preparing for the possibility that former President Donald Trump will be indicted as soon as next week, according to five senior officials familiar with the preparations.
Law enforcement is conducting preliminary security assessments, officials said, and discussing potential security plans in and around the Manhattan Criminal Court at 100 Center Street in the event Trump is indicted over an alleged payment silent to Stormy Daniels and travels to New York to face possible charges.
Precautionary preparations also signal that Donald Trump likely faces indictment. It is possible that the grand jury will decide not to nominate Trump, but that is extremely unlikely given the thoroughness of the investigation and the evidence that has been gathered.
It also appears that Trump’s near-constant threats to incite political violence if indicted are having no impact on law enforcement. If Trump is indicted, enhanced security will be needed because the nation will never have been in this situation before.
Given Trump’s relative ineffectiveness so far in convincing his fans that an impeachment against him is an impeachment against themthere is unlikely to be widespread political violence, but it looks like America is getting closer to breaking the seal to hold Trump accountable.
