HBO’s John Oliver denounced the stupidity of Fox News’ theory that Silicon Valley Bank failed because it was woke.

After playing clips of various Fox News personalities claiming Silicon Valley Bank failed because it was woke, Oliver said, “What are you talking about? It’s so stupid, I’m almost jealous. It must be so nice for them to blame everything they don’t like or understand on waking up. It rained on my birthday because of critical race theory, and my son called me ab-ch because of socialism, and on top of all that, I was late for work today because of a bunch of pronouns. I believe in these things, my mind, body and soul, and it makes my life so much easier. And the full context of the woke bank tale is even dumber than you might think. Basically, Fox News grabbed some of SVB’s diversity initiatives and tried to turn them around due to the collapse. Although, as one consumer credit expert pointed out, it had nothing to do with it. Adding that trying to link the two is like saying why blue isn’t the answer to a plus one.

John Olivier was right. Fox News’ claim that the revival is the reason the Silicon Valley bank failed is utter nonsense. There was a time when Fox News would have blamed the meltdown on Joe Biden, but that was before Fox woke up.
Fox can’t even set the alarm clock, let alone use it as a cover for their lack of a schedule.
The right is woke, and the whole concept is a reminder of how empty Fox and the right have become.
