It’s almost a truism at this point, almost an axiomatic: if fake news is upsetting about something, that something upsetting them is probably great.
If the above tautology didn’t grab you, the media tears certainly will. And they’re pouring down like the storm that sent Noah running after his hammer and his nails.
On this occasion, it is once again the greatest American governor, Ron DeSantis, who causes all the sores.
he is making it more difficult for foreigners in an irregular situation to work in the Sunshine State, and it’s bad, they tell us.
DeSantis: “You can’t create an economy based on illegality.”

DeSantis switches to E-Verify
Although he signed the bill to implement E-Verify two weeks ago, Yahoo only talked about their bloody history about a man who has been working illegally for 20 years.
20 years. Why didn’t he get citizenship?
Either way, people like the one who worked illegally for 20 years could soon find themselves unemployed, according to Or they work:
Starting July 1, businesses with 25 or more employees will need to use the federal E-Verify system to verify the legal status of all new employees.
Companies would face heavy fines for defying the law and employing undocumented migrants.

Bad luck. In short, E-Verify is a system that verifies an individual’s residency status. Companies use it to make sure they don’t hire illegal aliens.
Just to digress here…when was the last time you saw an article about the poor American worker who was out of work because, say, their business went overseas or was regulated?

Much noise about E-Verify
For those following my barely literate rants here, you can probably guess that I’m not a fan of E-Verify. For one simple reason.
American businessmen are not border patrol. It’s not their job to be Border Patrol, or ICE.
This job is for… well Border Patrol and ICE. Instead of placing the responsibility and possible penalties on Greg who runs a small printing company in Toledo, why don’t we do the border?
(Another interesting note I wanted to share here: Closing the border isn’t as hard as people make it out to be. I learned reading about Wyatt Earp and the OK Corral that in 1871 the Mexican Army was able to completely close the Mexico-Arizona border to bandits, Curly Bill’s infamous Cowboys, along with a few horses. Now if you think the mounted Mexican army of the 1870s can close the border but not the most powerful army in the history of the planet I don’t know what else to tell you other than I have a bridge for sale in Viet Nam.)
Additionally, small businesses are generally defined as having 10 to 50 employees. What types of businesses do you think have fewer than 25 employees and therefore do not fall under E-Verify?
You guessed it right, exactly the kind of outfits most likely to profit from illegal labor. Small farms, restaurants, private residences, etc. Back to this bridge in Viet Nam, do you really think it was an accident?
Now, all that being said, I am willing to set aside my curious opinions on this matter for now, because they won’t close the border. And, apparently, people just won’t stop voting for the same Republicans who never close the border.
Third, because people will be be caught deliberately hiring illegal aliens and should suffer the consequences.
But perhaps most importantly, because it makes fake news and falsely concerned Democrats so angry.
