Mississippi State landed its first commitment Wednesday night, and it was a big commitment to Mobile, Ala. Baker’s dual-threat quarterback Josh Flowers.
After receiving an offer from the Bulldogs on February 16, the three-star prospect traveled to Starkville this weekend for an unofficial visit and found his future home.
The Bulldogs and head coach Zach Arnett and new offensive coordinator Kevin Barbay get a signalman who was an offensive machine in the 2022 season. Flowers connected on 64% of his passes, throwing for 1,453 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for 1,367 yards and 15 extra scores against 7A teams at Alabama State.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound prospect picked Mississippi State over other notable offers from Texas A&M, Indiana, NC State, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida and others.
Flowers is ranked Alabama State’s 25th-best prospect and 8th-best dual-threat quarterback in the nation.
