Scottie Scheffler is tied for the lead halfway through the PGA Championship
Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland and Corey Conners hold a share of the lead halfway through the PGA Championship, with Bryson DeChambeau leading the chasing pack at Oak Hill.
Scheffler followed an unblemished 67 on Thursday with a two-under 68 in warmer, windier conditions at Oak Hill, as the world No. 2 mixed four birdies with two bogeys to head into the weekend with five under .
Conners tied Scheffler’s total and Hovland tied it at three at the top when he closed a second-round 67 with a birdie, with overnight leader DeChambeau twice alongside Justin Suh.
Four-time major champion Brooks Koepka is within three of a lead alongside England’s Callum Tarren, while Rory McIlroy is level five times and world No. 1 Jon Rahm is through the weekend thanks to a second round 68.

Exciting weekend ahead in Oak Hill
None of the morning wave members could reach within three shots of clubhouse leader DeChambeau, with Taylor Pendrith and Justin Rose being the initial target at one under after rounds of 69 and 70.
Scheffler started his first day behind, but started his dream by shooting his approach to the tap-in range at first and scoring a 10-foot birdie on the next, bringing it to five under, only for Conners – starting by the back nine. – to take blows in 13th and 15th to take a share in advance.
Corey Conners mixed three birdies with just one bogey on Friday
Conners had the absolute advantage when Scheffler recorded his first bogey of the week in the seventh, having failed to get up and down from a greenside bunker, the Canadian making clutch saves on the 17th and 18th for reach the first corner in front of him.
Keegan Bradley birdied on second and fourth to join Scheffler at four under, while DeChambeau slid four behind after following up a three-putt bogey on third requiring two attempts to get out of a greenside bunker and a double bogey in the sixth.

Conners responded to a missed eight-foot birdie chance at first to drain a 20-footer at the next to double their lead, while Hovland started their back nine with a birdie to move alongside Scheffler on four under.
Scheffler birdied 10 feet on the 14th and fired his tee shot on the next strike range, which gave him the solo advantage when Conners bogeyed the seventh, only for him to bogey the last and comes back to five cents.
DeChambeau moved into one of the headers with three birdies in a four-hole streak from the 11th, while Hovland posted a brilliant second-round 67 and tied it at three at the top with a closing birdie .
Who’s in the chasing pack?
A bogey on the last hole set DeChambeau back from two sides alongside Justin Suh, while Koepka birdied on four of his last seven holes to close a second round of 66, with Rose on one under and just nine players in red numbers before the weekend.
Shane Lowry came into contention with six birdies in an eight-hole streak but bogeyed two of his last three holes to par, while McIlroy is also on five after a brilliant fightback on nine.

McIlroy had been two over for his round until he birdied 45ft on the ninth par four, with the former world No. 1 then netting a bogey-free back nine by going a 15ft and closing a one under 69.
Club pro Michael Block is less than five off the lead with consecutive 70s, Dustin Johnson hesitating at four of 74 to lose six of the pace alongside Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay.

Big names sneak into Oak Hill
Rahm was outside the cut mark with six holes to play but birdied his next three, the Spaniard recovering from a bogey on 16 to close a second-round 68 and head into the weekend on four more.
Defending champion Justin Thomas scrambled a bogey on the last hole to make the cut on the count, while Jordan Spieth moved up and down the sand to save par and stay on five to keep his outside Grand Slam hopes alive.
Phil Mickelson earned his 100th cut in a major and is also 10 back with a 72-two brace, while US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick and last week’s AT&T winner Byron Nelson Jason Day both missed the cut.
