In recent years, we’ve been blessed with five or six elite quarterbacks in each class, but 2025 could be different. Bryce Underwood And Cutter Boley are the only two quarterbacks ranked at the elite level right now, but a few more are bound to join them.
Rivals National Analysts – Clint Cosgrove, Adam Friedman, Adam Gorney, Nick Harris And Ryan Wright — give their thoughts on who could be the next big lifter in the standings at quarterback.

Cosgrove’s View: George MacIntyre
The Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy star is already ranked the No. 4 quarterback and No. 45 player overall in the class, but I’m picking him because I think he’s one of the few candidates who could push Bryce Underwood for first place in office.
MacIntyre is extremely talented and looks like a future star in the making. He’s one of those recruits that you like more and more every time you watch the tape and he just seems like one of those guys who was born to play the job.
MacIntyre has an incredible amount of benefits, and with recent offerings from USL, Alabama, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Penn State And Georgia his recruitment is starting to reflect the player I believe he can be. Also look for Vanderbilt to potentially compete with college football’s blueblood programs for MacIntyre, as his grandfather was once the head coach of the Commodores.

Friedman’s point of view: Malik Washington
It’s already ranked in the Rivals250, but Washington hasn’t really entered the national consciousness yet. Currently No. 125 in the Rivals250, Washington is expected to attend various camps and pitch for a number of coaches this spring and summer.
We already have a pretty high opinion of Washington’s game, but he’s poised for a big rise in the standings if he continues to impress in offseason camps and practices. He brings all the measurables that college coaches are looking for, so deals could be rolling in quickly once coaches and scouts get a chance to see him up close.

Gorney’s View: Husan Longstreet
After seeing Longstreet at Camp of rivals in Southern California over the weekend, it could be argued that he could easily move up 10 spots in the pro-style quarterback rankings without much thought.
When I saw Longstreet play last season while in Inglewood, Calif., he was impressive but had happy feet at times and I thought a low four-star rating was appropriate. But just in the last few months, it’s become apparent that he’s grown physically and looks like a million bucks and has tightened up some of his mechanics.
If that progression continues, it’s unclear where Corona’s new centennial QB (California) could end up in the position rankings. But, for now, it looks like he’s making considerable progress.

Harris’ POV: Kelden Ryan
Ryan appeared on the recruiting radar early on as a freshman quarterback starting at Texas Level 6A in 2021. And while traits, off-season outings, and athletic ability made Ryan a big name in watch, he hadn’t quite excelled in the fall seasons with limited playmakers around him.
Now Ryan is at a new high school that should have the weapons to help him succeed, and his first off-season showings in 2023 have given him a big step forward as a caller. Depending on Ryan’s progress this offseason, as well as his production as a junior, he could end up claiming the best quarterback in Texas for a 2025 class that’s still wide open at that position.

Wright’s point of view: Tramell Jones
A three-star QB now, Jones has the tools to be a four-star in the next rankings update. Jones is athletic with a Saturday arm and has a big advantage. During his breakout season for Mandarin High School (Florida), Jones threw for 2,310 yards with 23 scores in 10 games.
Seeing him this offseason, the ball is coming out at different angles, the footwork is tightening up, and his coverage recognition is picking up, allowing him to deliver the ball quickly.
Jones already has 10 offers with Miami, pitt, state of florida And Florida after him.
