Rivals Camp Series Los Angeles: exceptional measurements

STRATEGIST

Dermaricus Davis

Dermaricus Davis

No position is more scrutinized than that of quarterback. Just look at this class draft alone. East Bryce Young too short? What about Colorado coach Deion Sander‘ Comments on quarterbacks from two-parent families? How must Anthony Richardson be thought after not completing a high percentage of passes at Florida but then blow the combine?

Over the past 10 years, starting quarterbacks in the NFL have averaged a hand size of 9.6 inches and a wingspan of 77.3 inches. Three quarterbacks have met or come close to those metrics at Rivals Camp, and Corona, Calif.’s new centennial star Husan Longstreet paved the way.

He measured with extraordinarily large hands at 11 inches and a wingspan of 78 inches, and then Longstreet came out and showed he was one of the best ball throwers, too. Etiwanda, California, standout Dermaricus Davis was 9.4 hands and a massive 80.5 wingspan, and 2026 QB Troy Huhn was 9.4 hands and a wingspan of 79.

TO COME BACK

Jordan Davison

Jordan Davison

There were plenty of awesome running backs at Sunday’s camp, but one of them measured exactly what NFL starters have done over the past 10 years — and that’s no big surprise. Jordan Davison is the highest-rated running back in Santa Ana (California) Mater Dei’s 2025 class and he had 9.44 hands and a 75.5 wingspan, which is what running backs in the NFL have had to number.

WIDE RECEIVER

Derek Meadows

Derek Meadows

Wide receiver is always a hotly contested position when it comes to rankings and they are also incredibly watched during the evaluation process by NFL teams, so measurables play a big role when it comes to to determine who should have an advantage.

For NFL starters at receiver over the past decade, the hand height has been 9.4 inches and the wingspan is 76.6 inches. Four players have already surpassed those pro numbers while still in high school.

Most impressive were Las Vegas Bishop Gorman 2025 teammates Derek Meadows And Tavian McNair. Meadows checked in at 9:44 a.m. and had a wingspan of 81.5 inches, and McNair had a wingspan of 79 inches.

Top Rookie 2025 Phillip Bell from Mission Hills, California, Alemany had a wingspan of 78.5. Hayden Eligon IIan impressive-looking Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco receiver, had 10.4 hands and a wingspan of 77.

*****

TIGHT END

David Mitchell

David Mitchell

NFL starting tight ends over the past decade have averaged 9.8-inch hands and 79.6-inch wingspans. A tight end in Los Angeles came close to or exceeded those metrics. It was the new Los Alamitos, California, four star David Mitchell, who recently transferred from Allen, Texas. Mitchell looks like a million bucks and is physically full, while his hands are slightly small at 9.44 inches, his wingspan exceeds that of NFL debutants at 83 inches.

*****

OFFENSIVE LINE

Westbrooks Field

Westbrooks Field

NFL offensive linemen over the past 10 years have averaged 10-inch hands and an 82.4-inch wingspan. Those are big numbers, but there were a host of offensive linemen at Sunday camp who came close to or beat those stats, which is impressive since a lot of the best players across the line were subclasses.

Los Angeles Loyola Offensive Guard Westbrooks Field and Mission Hills (California) and Alemany’s Maki Stewart both had 10.4 hands and a wingspan of 82 inches. Star OL 2026 Keenyi Pepe (10.2 hands, 83 wingspan), Lehi, Utah, rookie Jensen Somerville (10.2 hands, 83 wingspan) and Chatsworth (California) Sierra Canyon’s Ashdon Wnetrzak (10.2 hands, 84.5 wingspan) were the main standouts.

*****

DEFENSIVE END

Kevin Johnson

Kevin Johnson

NFL defensive starters over the past decade have averaged 10-inch hands and 81.3-inch wingspans. Two Rivals Camp players were very close – in one way or another – to these criteria, which could project them higher than the rest when it comes to league decision-makers considering them in years to come. .

Downey (California) St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy standout Kevin Johnson is a truly intriguing prospect because while he’s still raw and needs to refine his moves as an edge rusher, he has the measurable measurements to be special with 9.84-inch hands and a wingspan 82 inches.

The other rookie who fits the pattern is El Cajon (Calif.) Granite Hills’ Damarion Whitewho recently emerged with eight bids and has the same hand size as Johnson with an 81 wingspan.

*****

LINEBACKER

Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa

Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa

Hand size for rookie inside linebackers in the NFL over the past decade has averaged 9.6 inches and a wingspan of 77.4 inches, so our ranking of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco’s Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa is only reinforced by these statistics. Considered the third-best inside linebacker in the 2024 class, Viliamu-Asa is a tackle machine, and while his hands are a bit small, his wingspan is already 78.5 inches, surpassing NFL backers.

*****

CORNER BACK

Dijon Lee Jr.

Dijon Lee Jr.

Over the past decade, hand size for NFL starters averaged 9.2 inches and wingspan measured at 75.6 inches, so that’s a good gauge to start with when starting out. looks at the elite size at the position, and many players at the Camp of rivals exceeded these numbers.

The most interesting is Mission Viejo, California, four stars Dijon Lee Jr., who stood 9.44 hands tall and had a wingspan of 78 inches, which would currently put him in the top tier of NFL starters. There’s no doubt that Lee has length, but he’s also incredibly talented at that position and has been shutting down receivers all day.

Of the side’s cornerbacks, three others who really stood out were Sacramento (California) Capital Christian’s Kayo Patu (10 inch hands, 76 inch wingspan), Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., rookie Elyjah Gordon (9.05 hands, 79 wingspan) and 2026 Santa Ana (California) Mater Dei standout Jayden Crowderwho had 9.6 hands and a wingspan of 75 inches.
