America’s top governor, Ron DeSantis of Florida, is officially implementing what some see as his ill-conceived plan to run for president in 2024.
Rather than wait for a clear path in 2028, DeSantis seems determined to get beaten by current front-runner Donald Trump.
Maybe that’s why DeSantis is pulling out the big guns – he’s reportedly about to make his offer announcement with America’s Best Businessman, Elon Musk.

DeSantis will make his announcement Wednesday night at 6 p.m. ET.
The big news though, is the Elon Musk part. DeSantis will announce in a Twitter space — which for those unfamiliar is basically Zoom without the video aspect — with Musk himself.
Having Musk in his corner could prove to be a boon for DeSantis. Besides the potentially unlimited money, there’s also Twitter itself, which is an extremely powerful tool. Trump proved it in 2016.
And speaking of which, Trump still hasn’t returned to Twitter, even though Musk lifted the former president’s ban.
Trump remains loyal to Truth Social, his alternative platform created following his ban. A major mistake, in my opinion.
Especially since DeSantis has Musk in his corner.
Desantis announcing his race on Twitter makes this even more crucial

DeSantis is down Trump
The thing is, DeSantis will need Musk, the cash, and any other perks he can get.
Because as it stands, the GOP is Trump’s party. And the polls show it.
A poll last month showed that Donald Trump had a bigger lead over DeSantis that President Biden had on insurgent Democratic nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Frankly, it’s an embarrassing performance for DeSantis, and I don’t expect it to hold up at all. Still, that should say something to Camp DeSantis.
The US governor gets much better news when polls look to a general election.
The latest Morning Consult poll shows DeSantis only lost three to Biden. DeSantis hasn’t even announced yet, and he’s not as national as he will be very soon.
The same poll shows Trump is dead even with Biden.
Let’s go back to the primary, if DeSantis continues his work as a yeoman dismantling of the progressive regime in Florida, he will undoubtedly start winning over Trump.
