MEN

GOLFERS OF THE WEEK

Ryan Hart, Florida

Hart, won the first collegiate tournament at the Daytona Beach Spring Invitational. Shot all three rounds under par for a score of 207 (-9) over 54 holes. Posted two rounds in the 60s with a 69 (-3) and a career low 68 (-4). Had 10 birdies and an eagle against three bogeys in 54 holes. Had a bogey-free final round of 70 (-2).

Carson Bacha, Auburn

Bacha, shot 71-68-66 (-11) to win the Tiger Invitational. Earned his first collegiate victory in a group of 90 players. Career tied at 18 (-6), new low at 54 (-11). Led Auburn to the fourth tag team title of the season and a new Tiger Invite record (-41). The team’s winning score is also third in school history for 54 holes.

FIRST YEAR OF THE WEEK

Wells Williams, Vanderbilt

Williams, won his first collegiate individual title with a 203 total over three sets at Cabo Collegiate. Shot a no-bogey 65 in the second round and a 4-under 67 in the final round that included only one bogey. Williams won the event by five strokes.

WOMEN

GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Mathilde Claisse, South Carolina

Claisse, became the first Gamecock to win the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in the prestigious tournament’s 11-year history. It was also her first career win as she shot a 54-hole score of 208 (-5); posted three red numbers with scores of 69-69-70 on the tough Pete Dye par-71 layout. Claisse had 11 birdies and led the tournament with a 3-point average (2.75, -3). She was one of only three in the group of 90 players to beat par. 41 players on the pitch have been ranked in the top 100 of the Golfstat Player Rankings, including four in the top 10.

FIRST YEAR OF THE WEEK

Edit Hertzman, LSU

Hertzman, in just her fifth round of college golf, Hertzman finished second in solo in the nationally televised Darius Rucker Invitational against one of the toughest courses this season so far in women’s college golf. Had five birdies for a final round 67 to move up five spots and shoot a three-day total of 4-under par 209, a shot at medalist honors with rounds of 69-73-67 on the par-71 course of the Long Cove Club. Finished with a tournament-best score of -3 on par four holes and led the 90-man field with 13 birdies. Helped LSU to three of LSU’s four team wins this season, including two in consecutive team wins in the month of February. The previous best finish was T23 at the Moon Golf Invitational in a Team LSU victory with a -3,213.
