Far-left ‘Squad’ member Cori Bush has come under heavy criticism after introducing legislation demanding $14 trillion in reparations for slavery, and suggesting the US government has a ‘moral obligation and legal” to do so.
Bush, flanked by activists and other left-wing extremist lawmakers like Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), announced the new legislation known as repairs NOW at a press conference on Wednesday.
“America must provide reparations if we want a prosperous future for all,” she demanded.
“The United States has a moral and legal obligation to provide reparations for the enslavement of Africans and its lasting damage to the lives of millions of black people,” Bush said.
Bowman chimed in, saying black people still feel the pain of slavery today, even though they never actually experienced it.
“Trauma lives in the black body” he reasoned.

Cori Bush wants $14 trillion in reparations
You might be surprised to learn that Rep. Cori Bush presented her $14 trillion reparations package with no plan to fund it and clearly without much thought about the proposal.
When asked to explain how to finance this massive proposal, Bush suggested that the United States cut its overseas and defense spending – which would total about 1/14th of $14 trillion. of dollars. (Which also, according to left-leaning media, would make her “Putin’s puppet.”)
Why stop at $14 trillion? Why not just keep making up numbers like 110 trillion?

As absurd as it sounds, Bush is implying that the Biden administration is taking this seriously and “working with” them.
“We are working with this administration, we are talking with other members of Congress, but I will say this,” she said.
“If we can continue to fund these endless wars, or if we can continue to invest billions of dollars in these eternal wars, in the defense budget, even beyond what they asked for, if we can send money overseas to help elsewhere, so we have to make sure, because we’re talking about things that are happening right now.
No, slavery is not happening now. And not a single living person has ever been enslaved in the United States.

Just more of this woke ideology
Cori Bush has been widely ridiculed for her demand that American taxpayers pay $14 trillion in reparations.
Representative Kat Cammack, Republican of Florida, slammed the plan as nothing more than “woke ideology”.
“I think it’s just the woke ideology peeking out and raising its ugly head,” she said. “In this country, you can do anything, be anything, and this culture of victimhood has gotten out of hand.”
You can even become a congressman while sporting a room temperature IQ!
Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) said, “The notion of reparations is so absurd it doesn’t even deserve a response.
Journalist Christopher Tremoglie writes that the Democrats in favor of “national account” reparations demand “this was the Civil War, in which more than 625,000 white men died fighting to end the evil institution of slavery.”
“@CoriBush think reparations would be a national judgment on slavery.
The national toll was the American Civil War, when 625,000 white men died to end the evil institution.

Bush has long been a critic of the country for which she is a prestigious legislator.
Last Independence Day, she criticized the United States and asserted that “black people are still not free” in America.
“When they say the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: the freedom they refer to is for white people,” she falsely claimed. “This land is stolen land and black people are still not free.”

The concept of reparations, though far-left Democrats suggest it’s a foregone conclusion that it’s fair and just, remains incredibly unpopular in America.
Last poll show three quarters or more white adults oppose reparations, as do a majority of Latinos and Asian Americans.
Representative Burgess Owens (R-UT), who is black, suggested he would like to see Democrats pay restitution to blacks “for all the misery brought to my race”.
