Stop leaving Marmalade and Paddington Bears for Queen: Officials

In London, the site of the floral tributes is in Green Park, next to Buckingham Palace, where officials who run the so-called royal parks have issued tips on what to do.

For example, authorities asked the public to remove the plastic wrapping from all flowers before leaving them. This will make it easier to turn the flowers into compost at least a week after the funeral.

They also said, “We would prefer that visitors do not bring non-floral objects/artifacts such as teddy bears or balloons.”

The advice was also shared with the BBC, as presenter Sally Nugent told viewers: “They suggest there are enough Paddingtons and marmalade sandwiches in the parks at the moment, so feel free not to bring flowers, but maybe don’t bring any more Paddingtons or marmalade sandwiches just yet.”
