During the week ending May 20, the figure put forward for seasonally adjusted initial claims were 229,000, an increase of 4,000 from the revised level of the previous week. The previous week’s level was revised down by 17,000 from 242,000 to 225,000. The 4-week moving average was at 231,750, unchanged from the revised average of the previous week. The previous week’s average was revised down by 12,500 from 244,250 to 231,750.
