Paul Salopek (born February 9, 1962 in Barstow, California) is a journalist and writer for the United States. It’s two-stroke Pulitzer Prize winner and grew up in the center Mexico. Salopek reported globally for the Chicago Grandstand, Foreign Police, Atlantic, National Geographic Magazine and many other publications. In January 2013, Salopek embarked on the “Out of Eden Walk”, originally planned to be a seven-year walk along one of the routes taken by the first humans to migrate out of Africa, a journey to transcontinental foot which was to cover more than 20,000 miles financed by the National Geographic Societythe Knight Foundation and the Abundance Foundation.
Salopek graduated in environmental biology from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1984. Salopek worked intermittently as commercial fisherman, shrimp– to fish from Carnarvonand more recently with shell float out of New Bedford, Massachusettsin 1991. His career in journalism began in 1985 when his motorbike interrupted Roswell, New Mexico and he took a job as a police reporter at the local newspaper to earn money for repairs.
