From Manheim Consulting today: Wholesale prices for used vehicles see strong increase in February
Wholesale prices for used vehicles (on a mixed, mileage and seasonally adjusted basis) rose 4.3% in February compared to January. This is the largest increase for the whole month of February since the 4.4% rise in 2009. The Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index (MUVVI) fell to 234.5, down 7.0% from a year ago. February’s increase is partly attributable to seasonal adjustment. The unadjusted price change in February was a 3.7% increase from January, pushing the average unadjusted price down 5.6% year-over-year.
