‘The View’ co-host Whoopi Goldberg was forced into an awkward on-air explanation after making a gay marriage joke about Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
The 66-year-old comedian suggested she should quit the show after the segment, which began by discussing Graham’s proposed 15-week federal abortion ban.
The deputy from South Carolina had very recently mentioned abortion, taking the position that “States should decide the issue of abortion.
The ladies of “The View” had a discussion about it with White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
“Senator Graham said maybe about a month ago, in early August, that he believed that when it came to marriage, when it came to abortion, it was up to the states to decide,” Jean-Pierre said. . “So, Senator Graham, what has changed? »
“Maybe he’ll get married,” Goldberg joked.
Referring again to same-sex marriage, she continued, “Hurry up, because I know people are having fun with our marriage rights wherever you are.”

You’ll notice in the clip above that the audience loved the joke, as did Jean-Pierre, who certainly had a good laugh beyond the line. But what’s so funny about gay marriage?
We know a Republican couldn’t have made that joke. What if they dared to laugh about it? Career over.
Whoopi Goldberg, returning from the commercial break, had to explain the joke about Lindsey Graham.
“I have to clarify that I was doing what I do as a comedian. Sometimes I make jokes, and it was a joke. Nothing more than that,” Goldberg said.
Goldberg hinted that he was spoken to during the break.
She explained, “I just had a whole conversation about people misunderstanding the joke.”
“I should probably never do this show again if that’s what it’s going to be,” Goldberg added. “It was a joke, guys, you know.”
If a conservative pundit said the exact same thing about Democratic politicians, they would have already been fired or suspended from television.

Liberals often make these ‘jokes’ about Graham
Other prominent leftists have made the same “joke” about Lindsey Graham’s sexuality that Whoopi Goldberg did, especially when he became one of former President Trump’s most vocal supporters.
The left assumed that Graham, a longtime bachelor, must be gay and Trump hung that fact over his head. How else to explain his support, they wondered.
“It could be that Donald Trump or someone knows something pretty extreme about Lindsey Graham,” MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle hinted. “We’re going to have to leave it there.”
Jon Cooper, former Draft Biden national finance chairman, then chimed in, suggesting that Trump was aware of some sort of “sexual” preference from Graham.
A Republican just told me he doubts @LindseyGrahamSC kowtows to Trump (and indirectly Putin) because he is being blackmailed over his sexual orientation (an open secret) or even financial corruption. On the contrary, he thinks it probably involves a pretty serious sexual problem.

Even Rep. Ilhan Omar made the “he’s compromised” joke.
Breathtaking bigotry, homophobia from a congressman. It’s not funny and confusing why Democrats get away with outdated stereotypes and silly conspiracy theories like this. https://t.co/5PePckchHG

Before her Lindsey Graham prank, Whoopi Goldberg repeatedly found herself in hot water over a series of dumb remarks.
She insinuated during a recent episode that because God gave people the “freedom of choice,” he would understand and accept abortion.
Whoopi Goldberg gave a godless sermon explaining that since ‘God doesn’t make mistakes’, he made her ‘smart enough to know when’ abortion was the right choice. Going through @NickFondacaro https://t.co/tJHrbVP5m2 pic.twitter.com/xmTEyOglQu

Other examples of Goldberg’s rich history of controversial commentary include claims that the Holocaust was not a matter of racedownplaying the rape accusations against the director Roman Polanskyand suggesting that terrorists should have the right to vote.
