The Iron Health women’s healthcare platform, which enables obstetrician-gynecologists to connect their patients to primary care and other specialties, was launched alongside a seed investment of $4.5 million.
The March of Dimes Innovation Fund, launched in septembercontributed to the seed investment of Iron Health and is an investor and strategic partner.
New York-based Iron Health is a women’s health technology platform that acts as a virtual extension of an obstetrician-gynecologist’s office, providing connectivity between primary and specialty care while helping to coordinate virtual care and services.
The platform offers patients virtual visits, direct messaging, and access to an OB/GYN Iron Health team member, including nurse practitioners, dietitians, clinical social workers, and registered nurses.
The platform was built at Rethinking healtha company that produces, launches and finds funding for other healthcare startups.

“We selected Iron Health as the first venture capital investment for the March of Dimes Innovation Fund because their unique value proposition for obstetricians/gynaecologists and patients complements our mission to improve the health of mothers and babies, by particularly in the areas of chronic disease management and mental health. “
THE GREAT TREND
Venture capital financing greatly slowed down for digital health in 2022 following the mega investments seen in 2021. However, investments in women’s health tend to increase despite declining overall funding, and some believe women’s health is still ripe for investment.
The March of Dimes Innovation Fund was launched last year to invest in start-up companies tackling maternal and child health issues. His support for Iron Health marks the fund’s first investment since its inception.
Redesign Health was one of the digital health platforms that raised huge funding in 2021, receiving $250 million.
In September, the company scored another $65 million in Series C fundingbut just a month later dismiss 67 employees, i.e. approximately 20% of its workforcein a process of restructuring.
Redesign Health has launched several digital health ventures since launching in 2018, including a homecare startup MedArrivecancer care coordination platform Health Jasper and hybrid mental health society Uprising.
Other businesses in women’s health include a virtual health care provider for women and families Maven Clinicdigital health platform for family care Ovia Health and hybrid women’s healthcare company Tia.
